Kim Introduces Herself ~ From The Heart
Kim Serafini is the founder of i am gr8ful and Lithos Therapy. She is a person who simply lives and breathes gratitude and entrepenurship.
Is very easy to look at Kim and think "Oh well, she has everything going mighty fine for her, if I were her, I'd live and breathe gratitude too." You may not believe it, but Kim has also faced adversity (several times) and knows exactly how it is to feel the weight of the world upon one's shoulder. Her challenges have been in relationships, in finances, in health... a broad spectrum - and this does make her compassionate and with special ability for empathy.
Kim had worked as a high flying management consultant in the United Kingdom & the United States of America and had great amount of success that most ambitious young 'business-types' can only dream of. She was paid small 'fortunes' as a Change Management Consultant dealing with Corporate "restructuring, mergers & acquisitions integration programs and general big projects involving multi-national companies.
A trip to the Himalayas, as a guest lecturer and "Sports Therapist and the inventor of Lithos Heated & Chilled Rock MassageTherapy" helped her to become aware of the concept of "one is all and all is one", but until her world came crashing right down, she didn't really come to terms with the true meaning of gratitude. She's made heaps of mistakes and learned some of life's best lessons the hard way.
About 6 years ago things were rather serious... and this continued for several years... She had business dealings with the wrong partners and almost lost everything she worked hard to get. At the same time, she was also diagnosed with serious health complications and to make matters worse, her love life was a total mess - she chose the wrong man to fall in love with. It was a time that was really difficult for Kim, she found herself struggling to feel optimistic and dynamic. So, Kim went back to her parent's place - instead of moping and feeling sorry for herself, Kim discovered the power of gratitude through several days of silent meditation and journaling.
Kim is more than eager to share her knowledge about the power of gratitude and her life's philosophy "i am gr8ful" to any individual who is interested in listening. She has spent a considerable amount of her time studying in the field of personal development, self-improvement and positive psychology. Kim has also lead corporate courses in "positive thinking" for about eight years now. Her company is known as "I Am Gr8ful" - the figure 8 symbolizes the infinity sign and the infinite number of things, individuals, places, events and phenomena that we can be thankful for.
In 2001 Kim founded Lithos Therapy, a luxurious spa treatment that employs heated & chilled rock instruments (AKA hot stones) with body massage. Lithos Therapy is now used in over 500 Australian day spas and Kim is working to get this special and luxurious healing massage spa treatment employed in other parts of the world. She has distributors in the Middle East and India to this end.
Kim considers herself, a really humble, down to earth person and enjoys sharing her knowledge about how to enhance one's life. She has learnt a lot during her corporate high flyer days and now teaches companies how to employ what she strongly believes is the most underutilized tool of all - and that is, gratitude. She knows that a lot of people say that they will be happy when they finally get such and such, but she wants people to understand that they can be happy right now! According to Kim, "the turnkey is gratitude". Kim understands that bitterness will never ever get you anywhere, on her website www.iamgr8ful.com, visitors will learn the disadvantages of being ungrateful and that bitter people are known for being ungrateful - bitterness has its baggage of troubles as well.
Kim has been dubbed "The Gratitude Goddess or the Queen of Gratitude" and is an expert at successfully utilizing all the things she has learnt from her research on positive psychology. She has helped many people see the positive effect of being gr8ful. She knows that there are times when people go through pretty challenging moments in life and think that things may never get better, she helps such people understand that their mind is extremely powerful and that if they continue to feel ingratitude, they will experience a host of other annoying problems.
Kim Serafini makes it an important mission to help people develop and live a life filled with gratitude. In her book, "i am gr8ful for life," the reader will learn how to be gr8ful for what he or she might often take for granted, such as air, water, friends, music, etc. Kim is indeed a living testimony of how being constantly gr8ful can help overcome life's troubles. It's a gorgeous little gift book and a great meditation tool.

5 Things Kim Wants You to Know:
- You are NEVER hurting anyone else by being selfish, self centred, self conceited and inconsiderate - you are only hurting yourself. It takes a whole lot of your energy to be impolite, mean and ungrateful. As a matter of fact, it can affect your health negatively.
- Being ungrateful robs you of life's pleasures. If you consistently think of those things that you do not have, you will end up being sad, pathetic and bitter. When you practice gratitude, you set the law of attraction in motion, the universe will bless you with more of those things that you are gr8ful for. You no longer have to live a life of lack, people who are ungrateful will not move beyond where they are in life because the law of the universe cannot be broken.
- There is always something to be gr8ful for. You do not have to have a fancy apartment, a well paying job, be married etc in order to practice gratitude. You can be gr8ful for your ability to see, hear, smell, feel, taste and think. There is an infinite amount of things that one can be thankful for - just look around you!
- People who practice gratitude are usually very optimistic people; "optimism" is a characteristic that a lot of researchers believe can boost the immune system. If your immune system is functioning in tip-top form, you will not have to worry about falling ill every time. There are many people who have life threatening illnesses and have been told by top medical experts that they will not live past a certain age. Thanks to the power of gratitude these people have made full recovery because they chose to think positive and live a life of gratitude.
- Gr8ful people are a joy to be around, they make you see and feel the beauty of life. They are more attractive. Being ungrateful just does not make sense.
Kim Serafini is a strong believer and advocate of GRATITUDE, for the past 20 years, she has consistently devoted her time to enhancing herself.
What Others Say About Kim
I just wanted to thank you again for coming and speaking with us at our Discovering Spirit evening (in Crows Nest, Sydney). Everyone was wholeheartedly appreciative and completely inspired by your approach to living. Many of us understand the importance of being grateful but I think you brought it to life with your personal stories and the interesting mix of facts from the world of science - we all have so much more energy to focus on it again! Like you said - why is it that we don't do the things we know work!? Thanks for the reminder in such a powerful, engaging and amusing way. And thank you for being a real person - approachable, honest and open. I hope we can see you again. Jenny McFadden, Kinesiologist.
I am so grateful that Kim Serafini was Guest Speaker at The Cooroy Business and Professional Women's Early Birds Breakfast in May 2009. WOW! Kim had the ladies captivated. She spoke of gratitude in our daily lives and how a positive attitude can not only make us feel healthier and happier but it lessens the effect of negativity. Kim is a dynamic speaker and her enthusiasm and friendliness endeared her to all who were privileged to hear her speak. Feed back after the breakfast was excellent with many asking could we have Kim speak to the Early Birds Breakfast group again. Margaret Kippen, BusinessWoman.
Kim Serafini was the guest speaker at Noosa Library's 2009 International Women's Day event - 'i am gr8ful'. Kim was a great speaker and inspired the audience of 90 people to live differently by finding what they can be grateful for, the physiological and emotional benefits of living in gratitude, and how to be grateful. By sharing her own journey, the audience was able to relate to Kim's experiences and learn from her. Kim has clearly researched this topic thoroughly and is a great believer in the benefits for everyone. We appreciated the opportunity to host this i am gr8ful event.
