Enriching Visions Downloadable Desktop Guide

This guide will walk you through the steps of downloading, installing and using the iamgr8ful desktop application on your personal computer. The desktop application will enable you to download and watch any Personal Enriching Visions that you've created on the iamgr8ful website. Once the application downloads your Personal Enriching Visions, you won't need to be connected to the Internet to view them.

Please be aware that the app is currently in beta, so there may be occasional “bugs” in the program. We appreciate your patience and willingness to use the application in this early stage, and welcome your feedback. Let us know what you think, and help us make the app even better!

1. Windows Version Download and Installation.

Use the following instructions if you're using a Windows-based PC. If you use an Apple Mac, then go to the section of the guide below labelled "2. Mac Version Download and Installation." Go to http://iamgr8ful.com/desktop_download.html to find the download links for the app and click “Windows.” Once you click the link, you’ll be prompted to save the installation file onto your computer. Go ahead and click the “Save File” button and make note of where on your computer the file is saved. The current beta version of the application is roughly 30MB in size, so downloading may take a few minutes or more if you have a slower Internet connection.

Now go to the folder where the file saved, and double-click the installation file. Click “run” to begin the installation process. You’ll be presented with the following screen:

Click the “Next” button to begin the process. The first step is to review and accept the terms of use for the program. Once you’ve reviewed the terms and agree, check the “Accept” box and click the button. The program will select a default folder in which to install itself. You can change this if you need to, but otherwise just go ahead and accept the default folder by clicking “install.”

The installation process will take a few minutes. When it’s completed, you’ll see a new iamgr8ful icon on your desktop. 

This icon is a link to the iamgr8ful application. When you are ready to ise the application view your Enriching Visions, simply double-click the icon.

2. Mac Version Download and Installation.

Use the following instructions if you're using an Apple Mac computer. Go to http://iamgr8ful.com/desktop_download.html to find the download links for the app and click “Mac.” Once you click the link, you’ll be prompted to save the installation file onto your computer. Go ahead and click the “Save File” button and make note of where on your computer the file is saved. The current beta version of the application is roughly 30MB in size, so downloading may take a few minutes or more if you have a slower Internet connection.

Now go to the folder where the file saved (usually in your Downloads folder), and launch the .dmg file that's named "iamgr8ful" (plus the version number), as seen below:

When you launch the file you'll see the following window:

Once the installation file is completely opened you'll be presented with the following:

Now drag the iamgr8ful.app into your "Applications" folder.

It's also possible to add the Iamgr8ful app to your dock by dragging it:

After dragging, your new dock should look something like this:

The first time you launch the application you'll need to agree to the terms and conditions in the following window:

Now you're ready to use the application!

3. Using the Application.

When you first launch the iamgr8ful app, you’ll see the following screen:

Click the large button labeled “Settings” and enter your login information. 

Once you’re logged in you’ll be able to select from the Enriching Visions you have available on your account by clicking the button labeled “Enriching Visions.” Choose your video by clicking the appropriate button from the list. Your list will include those Personal Enriching Visions that you've already created on the iamgr8ful website; if you haven't yet created any, then now is a great time to go to the website and do so. It takes some time to download each of your Enriching Visions the first time, so please be patient. For this step, the faster your Internet connection, the better.

Using the iamgr8ful app can be a great way to save bandwidth of your Internet connection. Once you've used the application to watch an Enriching Vision to its completion, you'll have a copy of it on your personal computer. The next time you use the app to watch that Enriching Vision you won't need an Internet connection at all. (But you'll need to watch the Enriching Vision all the way to the end for it to completely download.)

Once each video has downloaded, you’ll see the familiar interface that you’re already familiar with from viewing your Enriching Visions online.

When you change any Enriching Vision on the iamgr8ful website, you'll need to have an active Internet connection the next time watch that Enriching Vision for the updates and changes to be downloaded to your personal computer. In addition, because new images are frequently added to each Enriching Vision category, you'll want to watch your videos on the desktop app all the way through from time to time, to make sure those new images are downloaded to your computer.
